About

You deserve a therapist who really sees you

Hi, I’m Laura Picard.

I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (CA #135100) who believes in the power of connection, compassion, and growth.

My path to becoming a therapist wasn’t linear—and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University, graduating with honors. Before that, I called Boston home, studying at Suffolk University while working as a nanny to put myself through school. Those early experiences shaped my resilience, empathy, and belief in showing up, even when life feels hard.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent over a decade in entertainment marketing. While exciting on the outside, I quietly struggled with severe anxiety. Therapy changed everything—it gave me tools to heal and helped me understand myself in ways I hadn’t thought possible. That experience inspired me to help others find their own path toward clarity and relief.

I began my clinical work at the Venice Family Clinic, the largest free clinic in the U.S., and later supported students in underserved schools across Los Angeles. I now specialize in working with teens and young adults navigating anxiety, trauma, emotional intensity, identity challenges, and complex relationship patterns.

Many of my clients are thoughtful and self-aware but feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward. I use Internal Family Systems (IFS), DBT, and trauma-informed care, and am currently training toward IFS certification with founder Dr.Richard Schwartz. I’m also passionate about the neurobiology of trauma, the mind-body connection, and how social media impacts mental health.

Outside thetherapy room, I love nature, hiking, figure skating, and spending time at the beach with my dog, Miley.

If you’re feeling stuck or just curious about what’s next, I’d love to hear your story.
